Mayor
Dear Friends,
Pembroke is a thriving community that has experienced quite a bit of growth in recent years, and yet has managed to retain the charm and character of a small town. Pembroke is both a bedroom community and a place where people live and work just minutes from their homes. We like to say, "Pembroke is close to everywhere".
Established in 1905 after decades as a whistle stop on the Georgia Central Railroad, Pembroke has long been the center of North Bryan County and serves as the County Seat. The Bryan County Courthouse was completed in 1937 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. While centrally located to Claxton, Hinesville (Ft. Stewart Army Base), and Statesboro (Georgia Southern University), Pembroke is also just 25 minutes from Downtown Savannah.
Pembroke is a city of history. With our picturesque downtown, established neighborhoods and parks, strong family values and devotion to preservation of our beautiful city, Pembroke is a great place to call home. Our people are friendly, open and willing to embrace newcomers.
Our schools are the centerpieces of our community, and offer the best education in the region. Our shops and store merchants offer the personal attention only small towns can provide.
We are very proud of our City and all we have to offer. The lifestyle, recreational opportunities, thriving churches and the spirit of community involvement all contribute to making Pembroke a great place to live, work and play.
We hope that you will visit and experience what our community has to offer you and your family.
Welcome Home!
